‘Tis the luck of the Irish

by ticketprinting on February 19, 2010

Spring is nearly upon us, and with the approaching vernal event, we can anticipate those harbingers of March: leprechauns and green beer. And nothing pairs with beer of any colour quite like Raffle Tickets! Whether or not you’re Irish, have access to a source of shamrocks, or enjoy corned beef, you can turn St. Patrick’s Day into a winning moment for your organisation.

Used alone or in conjunction with a big St. Patrick’s Day event, St. Patrick’s Day-themed Raffle Tickets are sure crowd-pleasers. Colourful green Raffle Tickets, or simple black and white printing, with shamrocks, harps, leprechauns, and more help instill an atmosphere of good will and good luck.

Use these tickets in small pub draws, at large parades, or for anything in between. Superior for office prize draws and for clubs, they help your group earn more money. Keep your theme in mind, and remember that drinking helps to loosen the purse strings. You may have a generous donor for your prize draw, but if not, think of small, appropriate prizes for the holiday:

  • Some volumes of James Joyce
  • A nice case of stout or lager
  • An IRFU jersey

Whatever you choose, be sure to accompany it with great fanfare, crowd-pleasing speeches about all the good work your organisation can do with the proceeds from the prize draw, and, of course, a tasty beverage.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Who Wants to Win an Alpine Villa?

by ticketprinting on February 13, 2010

More exciting news from the world of Raffle Tickets, philanthropy, and self improvement! Today’s story comes from Austria where, after a lifetime of hard work, millionaire Karl Rabeder has decided that his fortune and riches have brought him only misery. In pursuit of true happiness, Rabeder has begun raffling off his worldly possessions, including a mansion in the Alps, a home in Provence, a collection of gliders, and his sports car.

The Alpine villa, appraised at £1.4 million, is to be raffled off, with all proceeds goings towards Mr. Rabeder’s own microlending charities, providing small loans to self-employed people in Central and South America. He hopes to sell almost 22,000 Raffle Tickets, with each ticket selling for the equivalent of £87 a piece. Now that’s a chance worth taking!

Eventually, he hopes to achieve true contentment with nothing, having given away his entire fortune. He plans to live a simple existence, in an isolated mountain cabin or perhaps a bedsit in a small town. Karl Rabeder is one man who has certainly learned the value of giving and the happiness that comes from supporting a meaningful charity!

Raffling off ones home is nothing new, but, in this case, purchasing a Raffle Ticket would have a special meaning, given that the proceeds will all go entirely to worthy causes.

The Book Raffle

by ticketprinting on February 6, 2010

Have you ever participated in a cakewalk? There is something to be said for the game in which everyone wins. A spirit of camaraderie and joy infuses those gatherings. Each participant contributes something and goes home with a prize.

You can capture the spirit of the cakewalk with a book raffle. This is a fundraising activity for groups with no capital whatsoever. If your organisation can afford to print its own Raffle Tickets online, this adds a lovely souvenir to the game, but even if you cannot buy Raffle Tickets, you can still come out ahead.

Simply ask each participant to bring a gently used book to the fundraiser. Ask them to choose something they have enjoyed, which they believe others in your group will also enjoy. Each participant checks in, deposits their book on the prize table, and receives a ticket, depositing the stub into a hat or bowl. Charge a small amount to play; all those pence will add up! At an appointed time, or at intervals throughout the evening, stubs are drawn, and the ticket holder is called to choose a book from the prize table. Everyone receives a new book, and your group earns more money!

Of course, you need not make it a book raffle. Use this same model with any commodity your group may enjoy:

  • Gently Used Toys
  • Yarn or Fabric
  • Baked Goods
  • CDs
  • Sporting Goods
  • Clothing
  • Craft or Scrapbooking supplies

So Little?

by ticketprinting on January 15, 2010

You don’t have to settle for second best!

A roll of Raffle Tickets may be a good, last-minute option, but it lacks the pizazz of a brightly coloured Raffle Ticket with an original design. Some organisers never consider the latter option, however, because they believe the cost is too dear, far out of their fundraising budget. But, in fact, spectacular Raffle Tickets don’t have to be expensive. You can purchase cheap Raffle Tickets that are also splendid Raffle Tickets.

How much would you imagine you might pay if you wanted to print your own Raffle ticket? I’m referring, of course, to full-colour, full-size ticket, perforated, individually numbered, with barcodes, and personalised with your own event information. For a small run of tickets, the cost would run to approximately six pence per ticket. If you print your own Raffle Tickets in bulk, you could pay as little as three p.!

You needn’t compromise on quality. Not at all. You may choose a beautiful image, add all the details you wish to include, and even upload your own custom images for a completely unique Raffle Ticket, and you will find that your order does not break the bank. Cheap, wonderful Raffle Tickets for your upcoming prize draw. Imagine that!

If you’re holding a prize draw, money is probably an issue. You want to make more and spend less. Bright, bold, eye-catching designs are simply easier to sell. So lay out a little money and make a lot of money. Just watch those returns roll in.

The Right Foot

by ticketprinting on January 8, 2010

Have you had much success selling Raffle Tickets to support your school, business, or charitable organisation? If so, you know it’s a smart way to add some extra cash to your annual budget. If you’ve never tried holding your own prize draw, or you’ve been disappointed with past results, now is the time to start preparing for a successful charity fundraiser.

Your success depends on a few factors:

  • Your organisation’s reputation
  • The value of your prizes
  • The cost of your tickets
  • The skills of your sales team
  • Publicity and exposure

If your reputation is already stellar, you can build on that, but if people are skeptical of your group, use your prize draw as a means of getting your message out and creating better buzz around your name.

Regarding prizes and ticket prices, do put some good thought into these choices. You may have to make many phone calls, use your networking skills, and perhaps even call in some favors to find prizes that people can get excited about. Then, price accordingly. For big ticket items, you can certainly ask for two pounds per ticket (the legal limit), but remember, you can make the same amount of money even if you charge less, by selling more tickets.

Let your sales team speak for you and show you in your best light. Your team should be able to talk coherently about your mission, and they should be willing to follow the crowds! Sporting events and street fairs are wonderful places to send your team. The more exposure they give you, the more money you’ll make. Make sure to write about your upcoming prize draw on your own website, but also on blogs and forums. Send press releases to the newspaper. Let people know when and where tickets will be available.

Start planning now and reap the rewards throughout the year!

New Year, Good Cheer

by ticketprinting on January 4, 2010

Happy New Year!

Your fabulous ticket girl expects that you found plenty about which to feel jolly, with no coal in your stockings and all the eggnog you could stomach. It’s a new year and a new decade, so how about making a new start with your fundraising efforts?

Margaret Mead once said, “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world: indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.” Your group can make a difference in 2010, and you can power that change machine with the proceeds of your next prize draw. Start planning today and you can start printing your own Raffle Tickets online tomorrow.

Don’t think you have the funds to get started? You’d be surprised. Raffle Tickets, even beautiful, customised, full-colour Raffle Tickets, are not terribly expensive. If your organisation is a charitable one, prize donations should be easy to obtain. And even if you can’t find proper prizes, remember that certain services are always welcome.

  • Cleaning
  • Animal Care
  • Tax Preparation
  • House Painting
  • Auto Service

Gift certificates for local companies that provide the services we always need are always welcome. So be creative! It’s a new year; time to make a new start for your group!

Merry Christmas

by ticketprinting on December 25, 2009

On this day of joy and celebration, we don’t leave anything to chance. Meals are planned in advance, Christmas shopping is all completed, and the last travelers, having planned well in advance, are sure to arrive in time to open their gifts beside the Christmas tree. We may attend large celebrations or charity parties where printed Raffle Tickets are offered. We may even find ourselves the proud winners of such prize draws. But we never stop being thankful for our good fortune.

Christmas is a time of hope and our own charity efforts are most likely to thrive at this time of year. Supporters reach deep into their pockets, anticipating the warm glow that results from helping those less fortunately. If we have thought ahead, we have already printed and sold our own Raffle Tickets, and added to the joy of the season by holding our prize draws in public forums with appropriate merrymaking.

Charity begins wherever we begin charity. Christmas is an excellent time to kick off our charity drive, or to conclude them, with the wonderful news of our success. Christmas-themed Raffle Tickets simply increase the feelings of hope and anticipation that already fill the air.

UK Ticket Printing wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, full to overflowing with success and happiness!

What We Sell…

by ticketprinting on December 20, 2009

…When We Sell Raffle Tickets

Consider this: When you made the decision to hold a prize draw, you did so for the sake of your organisation’s bank account. Perhaps your funds are running low due to overspending. Perhaps, like many organisations, your donations are down in this this economy. Perhaps you simply have grand ambitions. At any rate, you’re selling Raffle Tickets.

But Raffle Tickets are more than brightly coloured pieces of paper. When you print your own Raffle Tickets with your organisation’s name across the top, you are selling:

  • Your Mission. Your sales team should be able to articulate your goals. You’re not just selling a chance at a prize. You’re selling your own image. Make yourself look as stunning as possible and generate new supporters and plenty of good will in the community.
  • Hope. Raffle Tickets are about taking chances. When you talk about your fabulous prizes and start selling Raffle Tickets, you are selling possibilities. People love the feeling of hopefulness that comes from expecting something wonderful.
  • Lovely images. When you print your own Raffle Tickets online, the beauty of the design becomes part of the draw. Looking wonderful is a wonderful way to attract new supporters.

So look at your own promotion through the eyes of your customers. What do they see? What do they get? Start to spread a little joy and hopefulness while you make the most money for your organisation.

Hungry?

by ticketprinting on December 7, 2009

It’s a beloved tradition around the world. I refer, of course, to the meat raffle or meat draw! What could be better than taking a chance with a few quid, preparing for the possibility of winning a lovely roast or some chops from the local butcher? There can be no more delicious way to liven up a slow night down at the pub. When a kindly gent approaches you with a handful of Raffle Tickets, it’s hard to resist.

While not widespread in the States, bars in the American state of Minnesota are also familiar with this tradition. It seems nothing heats up a frigid night in that region than the excitement of a prize draw. For most of the year, they need not even worry about the meat going off while they continue drinking. Simply popping their cuts into the boot keeps them even colder than an icebox!

In New Zealand and Australia, such raffles are also known as “the meat tray.” As the name implies, these prize draws usually offer a tray of meats. Perhaps it will contain meat suitable for the barbecue, but more often, the trays are breakfast trays (with sausage, bacon, and eggs) or seafood trays. Care must be taken in these climates to keep the seafood trays fresh and cold!

In any event, Raffle Tickets are sold, the atmosphere in the pub remains jovial, and the charity hosting the prize draw benefits. Everyone goes home happy. Meat raffles are a simple way to make a few pounds in a short period of time, while brightening the day of everyone in the pub. Looking for a new fundraising opportunity? Try some meat?
