Sales and Marketing
Perhaps it’s not your strong suit. Well, no one ever said it would be easy, but you need not make it any harder than it is. Have you begun to plan your strategies?
- Volunteers Most prize draws depend on the good work of volunteers. Have you selected some? Who is interested in helping your cause? Who has time to do so? Offer incentives, such as awards for sales, and be sure to send thank you letters to those who have taken the time to help you.
- Sales Pitch Provide your team with an interesting script introducing your organization and its goal. People are more likely to spend money on causes they can support emotionally. Keep it short, however, or you’ll see their eyes glaze over as they wander away. Be sure to ask straight out if they will purchase a ticket!
- Platform Where do you plan to sell your tickets? Gathering places like pubs, parks, shops, and clubs are a good place to start. Some businesses may want to help, but always get permission before selling Raffle Tickets on private property! Get more exposure by contacting local reporters and other representative of the media for some positive press. Consider your audience. Where do they congregate?
- The Internet Advertise your prize draw on your website, or on pages where your supporters may be found. Create a circle of traffic: regular visitors to your site should learn about your raffle, and information about your raffle should link new users back to your site.
These are just some preliminary considerations as you begin to plan selling your own Raffle Tickets. We’ll review some more in the coming weeks!
