Using Pinterest for Raffle Ideas

by ticketprinting on April 15, 2014

We all use social media to stay connected to our friends and family. But for event planners who are trying to come up with new ideas, social media can save us loads of time with new ideas! Sure, we can sit and brainstorm for hours, or we could do a quick search and see what others are up to these days. Here are some great ideas we found on Pinterest.

Pinterest is a craft-lover’s paradise, with thousands of fun do-it-yourself ideas. But a quick search of raffle baskets also brings up some fun ideas you may not have thought about.

Themed baskets: Pulling together themed-items in a basket is a great way to entice guests to bid on that item. Try some ideas that your guests didn’t even know they wanted!

  • Pull together a beach getaway basket with a gift certificate for swimwear, sunscreen, umbrellas, towels, flippers – whatever your family could use at the sea!
  • Or plan for a game night in with loads of family-oriented board games and decks of cards. Don’t forget the snacks!
  • Is it a night in with your sweetie that you need? A basket full of wine, candles, chocolates, and maybe some personal fun items can put a smile on guests faces.

Whatever you decide for a theme basket, try to make it really specific and unexpected. Think about the fun things you like to do and how you like to treat yourself. Then do a quick search to see some ideas you might not have thought of!

Event ideas: Beyond what you might offer in a basket, Pinterest also has tons of suggestions to make your event special.

A raffle for a raffle! Start the evening by offering raffle tickets as a prize!

Themed nights! Turn the whole evening into a theme, like a trivia night fundraiser or a wishing well for Relay for Life.

Your own ideas are always the best, but we could all use a little help sometimes. Spend an hour or two (set a clock or you could end up on there all day) searching for fun ideas to enhance and customise your next raffle!
